The plain-language rules for playing RPS Royale, whether you found it as a Discord Activity or on the web.
By opening RPS Royale โ as a Discord Activity or at its web address โ you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it. These terms sit alongside Discord's own Terms of Service, which govern your use of Discord itself.
RPS Royale is a free, single-elimination rock-paper-scissors tournament for 2โ4 players. It's a hobby project, not a commercial product: there's nothing to buy, no ads, and no subscriptions.
There's no account system. When you play through Discord, the game asks Discord for your display name so it can show it in the arena instead of asking you to type one. On the web, you just type a name yourself. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what that involves.
Play fair. Specifically, don't:
Breaking these is grounds for us cutting off your access, per Termination below.
RPS Royale is provided as-is, free of charge, run on ordinary hosting infrastructure. We don't promise it'll always be available, bug-free, or fast โ a free-tier server can go to sleep, restart, or fall over. Treat it accordingly: don't build anything important on top of it.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any damage or loss arising from your use of RPS Royale โ direct, indirect, or otherwise. You use it at your own risk.
We may update these terms, or the game itself, at any time. Meaningful changes to these terms will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the new terms.
We can restrict or end anyone's access to RPS Royale at any time, for any reason โ most commonly for the conduct described in Acceptable use. Since there's no account, this typically just means removing you from an active game.
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in your place of residence, to the extent those laws apply to a free, non-commercial hobby project like this one.
Questions about these terms, or the game itself, can be raised as an issue on the GitHub repository.
